Sauvignon Blanc, Scott Base

This is the Central Otago label from the Scott family [of Marlborough's Allan Scott wines]. Made from certified sustainable vineyards and fermented with native yeast, it takes its time opening but soon reveals appealing aromas of honeysuckle, passion fruit, bell pepper and green herbal characters. There's a nice tingle of acidity on the chalky-textured palate and, while the finish is on the short side, there's depth of flavor and plenty of refreshment here, too.
