Gamay, Dom. Louis Claude Desvignes 'Morgon'

This bottling from the celebrated climat of Corcelette is the first Desvignes wine from sourced fruit. They harvest the fruit by hand from a 0.8-hectare plot of 50-year-old vines on sandy pink granite soils on a south-facing slope (see the dark swatch on the gorgeous label) in the western part of Corcelette near the border of the climat of St. Joseph.

Bright and charming, the 2021 Morgon Corcelette bursts with aromas of plums, raspberries, rose petals, vine smoke and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with bright acids and melting tannins, it's another of the more immediate, giving wines in the range.
