Champagne, Didier Herbert ‘Grand Cru de Verzenay’
100% Pinot Noir from Grand Cru de Verzenay
There are only 17 Grand Cru villages in Champagne. Established in Rilly-La-Montagne since 1920, the Herbert-Pechon family's activity initially focused on working the 1er Cru vines of Rilly-La-Montagne and Ludes, which it owns. Didier Herbert works with 30 parcels in 5 villages including Rilly la Montagne, Ludes, Verzenay and Mailly, creating wines with incredible structure, complexity and an engaging character. This diversity of terroirs allows them to ensure the consistency, complexity and typicality of the wines that the House produces. [For reference, Dom Perignon is only a Premier Cru.]
Pert and dry front end with a delicious layer of complex black fruits. The palate remains strict but with a dusting of sugar and fruit that really lifts up the mid to late.
