Barolo, Mauro Molino 'Conca'
Medium youthful ruby in hue, the 2020 Barolo Conca is showing off in this sunny vintage, with notes of crushed strawberries, sweet cedar, incense, and fresh lavender. Noble and long, this elegant and medium-bodied Barolo offers up wonderful length and a haunting finish revealing notes of orange peel and rocky earth. It’s a lovely wine with a hint of warmth on the finish, although it’s still weightless.
0.38 hectare holding in Conca vineyard, 60-year-old vines, in La Morra commune. In the lower La Morra bowl in Annunziata. A very protected, warmer, and sheltered site in the shape of an amphitheater with richer Tortonian soils. A very rich and supple Barolo with an extra amount of flesh, possibly due to higher heat accumulation. Approximately 80 cases produced.
